Aimee Kent is a Scottish fashion and lifestyle brand which focuses on sustainable RTW womenswear, printed textiles, and home décor and fashion accessories. Aimee gained an honors degree in textile design at the world renowned Glasgow School of Art in Scotland where she developed the techniques, disciplines and processes which lie at the heart of her label. Aimee started freelancing and designing prints for the fashion and creative industries in 2010, with her textiles showcased at London Fashion Week before graduating. Since then, Aimee has collaborated with and produced textiles for fashion designers such as Henrietta Ludgate, Mairi McDonald and, Niki Taylor of labels Olanic and The Top Project as well as working on projects with the likes of international branding agency The Partners, Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks in the UK, Love Your Clothes, Zero Waste Scotland, EMI music, Wrag Wrap, Fab.com, Johari and various other brands and organizations. Her textiles have been featured in publications such as Vogue, Marie Claire, WGSN and Elle Magazine and worn by celebrities such as Livia Firth (founder of ethical fashion platform Eco-Age and wife of famous actor Colin Firth) on the red carpet. Aimee uses environmentally friendly and sustainable printing techniques to create eye-catching and innovative designs. A special filtration system is used during her print process to ensure that any harmful chemicals contained within the dyes do not pollute the water cycle. This prevents harm to local aquatic ecosystems and the environment. Passionate about building a more sustainable future in the fashion industry, the brand uses mainly fair trade and organic certified fabric, factory offcuts and recycled materials in all collections. The resulting creations are stylish, sustainable, bold, fearless, fun and eco-friendly designs inspired by the designer's birthplace of Africa, travel adventures, foreign architecture and pattern found in her daily surroundings.
